A Ministry of Reconciliation

Two different generations, two different stories, one common theme of reconciliation brought on by the power of prayer, representing the Father's Heart for forgiveness.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12) It had been on her heart for years, especially in the growing relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ. When she had the abortion she was young, not understanding the effects of her choice at that time. Years later, she knew it was time for reconciliation when she ran into the man who would have been the father to their child. Through much prayer, a conversation was had where forgiveness and reconciliation transpired.

A different story, the same theme.

A moment to be safe and escape a predator resulted in tragic loss of her life. Her younger sister and family, left to grieve. For years the younger sister carried anger towards the man who could be blamed. Deciding it was time to truly face what happened, a moment of courage and forgiveness unfolded as the sister confronted the man responsible for her sisters death. Only because of Christ within, was she able to say, "I've been angry with you for years, I'm choosing to forgive you." A heart allowed to heal, and give all to God, brought on by the power of forgiveness. Changing the culture which seeks to permit any kind of exploitation, and rebuilding the family unit through the generations, takes a move of reconciliation through the power of the Holy Spirit. God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. (2 Corinthians 5:18-20 NIV)

Declaration

By the power of the Holy Spirit, and through the blood of the lamb, I choose to receive the ministry of reconciliation now. I receive the ministry of reconciliation and plead the blood of Jesus Christ in my family bloodline. May forgiveness and reconciliation transpire wherever it is needed. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
